Microsoft Outlook Comes To Apple Watch
Apple Watch gets more productive with new Outlook, Wunderlist and Translator apps as Microsoft works on Yammer too
Microsoft has released Outlook for Apple Watch, allowing owners of the smartwatch to read and respond to emails and calendar events directly from their wrist.
Users can read full emails on the small screen, with a ‘focused’ inbox displaying what the app believes to be the most important messages, and take actions such as delete, archive, flag or set them to appear later.
Messages can be responded to with pre-written templates or voice dictation and unread emails and appointments are shown on the glance screen.

Outlook Apple Watch
Microsoft has already launched a number of Apple Watch apps, including OneDrive, OneNote and Skype and is also making apps for Wunderlist, the to-do app it purchased earlier this year, and Microsoft Translator available. An app for enterprise social network Yammer is coming soon.
The company is also releasing Android Wear apps for OneDrive, Translator and OneNote.
“Wearables are an emerging type of device that promises to be always with you and provide relevant, personal notifications to keep you focused—through simple, natural and brief interactions,” said Microsoft in a blog post. “These context-aware devices become work companions, health advisors and even intelligent assistants.”
Microsoft’s recent strategy has seen it release as many of its services as possible for as many devices as it can, in order to increase subscription revenue. Previously, many apps, such as Microsoft Office, had only been available on Windows platforms in order to differentiate them from the competition.
The Apple Watch debuted in April with more than 3,000 applications, while a number of vendors, including SAP, have supported the smartwatch.
