Leaked Images Claim To Be Flagship Windows 10 Lumias
Hi-res render images of Cityman and Talkman leaked on Twitter by @evleaks
Pictures of Cityman and Talkman devices, thought to be the codenames for the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL and heavily rumoured to be Microsoft’s next Windows Phone flagships, have been posted online overnight by noted leakster Evan Blass, better known as @evleaks.
The images show the former sporting a cyan blue case, with the latter in a black shell, and both are displayed running a newer version of Windows Phone OS that looks a lot more like Windows 10.
Power up
The Cityman (Lumia 950 XL, pictured main image) is the more powerful of the pair, sporting a 5.7 inch WQHD OLED display, 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a 3,300mAh battery. There’s also a 20MP PureView rear camera with triple LED flash, a 5MP front device, wireless charging and the aforementioned iris scanner.
Its little brother (pictured left) will come with a 5.2 inch WQHD OLED display, a hexa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 3,000mAh battery, along with the same 20MP and 5MP rear and front cameras.
The new smartphones will also include support for accompanying styluses, meaning we could see phablet-sized devices designed with the business market in mind soon after the July 29 release date for Windows 10, as well as USB-C connectivity for accompanying charging stations.
There is even rumoured to be support for facial scanning, as an iris scanner will allow users to unlock their device without needing to enter a password as part of Windows Hello, Microsoft’s new facial-recognition software.
There’s no news on an exact release date for the devices, but it is thought to be fairly soon, possibly even at IFA 2015 in a few weeks, as Windows 10 Mobile is not expected to launch at the same time as the PC edition of the software.
