LG Nexus Smartphone To Feature 3D Camera

Two next-generation Nexus smartphones will reportedly carry a 3D camera and a fingerprint scanner.

The Nexus smartphones will both ship with Android M onboard, and they should be released sometime in October.

3D Camera

The first Nexus smartphone is expected to be from Huawei and is thought to be a low-cost option.

But it is the forthcoming Nexus smartphone from LG that is said to be sporting a 3D camera module, which besides normal 3D technology, will also have the ability to see and track in infra-red.

This is according to a report from Chinese site iNews24, which revealed a few hardware features of the smartphone, including that it will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip. That same report said that a local part manufacturer had supplied LG Electronics with a 3D camera module for the forthcoming handset.

It is also said to be boast fingerprint authentication technology.

Back in March Google announced it will no longer sell the Nexus 5 smartphone through its online store. Instead, the search engine giant is focusing its attentions on the Nexus 6 device, which was announced last November.

Google revealed its next generation of the Android operating system at its I/O conference last month.

Android M is said to include ‘hundreds of improvements’, although it’s nothing like the full-scale upgrades of previous launches.

Among the new features and enhancements are upgrades to app stability and permissions, a boosted Google Now service, and improvements to battery life and how users surf the web on a mobile device.

Also, one of the major new additions to Android M is a redesigned apps permissions system. This means that users will now be able to approve or deny security permissions, such as camera or location access, on a case by case basis, rather than the current system which asks users to approve all permissions at once when installing an app.
