LG has announced two new versions of its flagship G4 smartphone, including one with an accompanying stylus.
The company has looked to jump on the G4’s positive reception following its launch earlier this month with the G4 Stylus and the G4c, both of which will go on sale within the next few weeks.
The former, a supersized phablet device, is larger than the original G4, with the G4c offering similar power but in a more compact build.
Looking to jump on the trend of growing demand for phablet devices, the G4 Stylus (pictured left) comes with LG’s patented Rubberdium pen accessory, which the company says makes it ideal for taking notes and drawing on the go.
However, the 5.7in screen isn’t quite up to the standard G4, only offering HD display rather than the QuadHD screen in its smaller brother.
Available in LTE or 3G versions (powered by a 1.2Ghz quad-core or 1.4Ghz dual-core processor respectively), the G4 Stylus also comes with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage and microSD capability.
There’s also a 13MP rear lens and 5MP front camera on the LTE version, (downgraded to an 8MP camera on the 3G version), Android Lollipop 5.0 and a removable 3,000mAh battery.
LG has not revealed any details surrounding prices and release dates as yet, only confirming that both devices will go on sale in key markets ‘in the weeks to come’.
“The G4 Stylus and G4c are perfect examples of what we mean by a premium smartphone experience without a premium price,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics mobile communications company.
“We are committed to offering consumers in fast-growing markets LG devices that not only deliver performance, but also look good while doing so. Both the G4 Stylus and G4c will surpass customers’ expectations of what an LG phone should be.”
