The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus are now available in the UK, meaning Apple fanboys and fans of good technology can get their hands on the latest evolution of arguably the most important smartphone range in the world.

The two latest entries in the series are more iterative than revolutionary, boosting the iPhone’s hardware, TouchID fingerprint sensor and networking capabilities, while adding new features like ‘3D Touch’ and 4K video recording.

Apple claims sales could break all previous iPhone records – not bad considering it has sold more than 700 million smartphones over the past eight years.

The company might not be the world’s biggest smartphone manufacturer but it is probably the most influential, bringing new features and innovations to a wider audience. The iPhone is also massively important to the Cupertino-based firm as it is by far and away its most profitable product.
