HTC Quietly Reveals Its One E9+ Phablet

HTC has revealed full details of a new 5.5in phablet device to help boost its growing mobile range.

The HTC One E9+ was listed on the company’s Chinese site over the weekend, following weeks of speculation that the Taiwanese manufacturer would soon be launching a range of larger-screen devices.

The 5.5in phablet should arrive sometime in the second half of the year, although there’s no details on price yet.

Expansive

Looking to take on the likes of the iPhone 6 Plus and Galaxy Note 4, the part-metal, part plastic One E9+ features a Quad HD display, Android Lollipop 5.0, 20MP rear camera, and will be able to support dual nano-SIM capacity.

There is also an 64-bit, octa-core 2GHz MediaTek MT6795M chipset, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, (which can be expanding up to 128GB via microSD), a 2,800 mAh battery, an UltraPixel front-facing camera and HTC’s trademark BoomSound front-facing stereo speakers.

The reveal follows an invite sent out by the company last week for an April 8 media event in China, where HTC is thought to be officially unveiling a super-sized version of its One M9 flagship, announced at Mobile World Congress last month.

However, the name of the event (‘More than One’) suggested that HTC would be announcing several devices, the E9 and E9+ amongst them.
