HP Pro Tablet 608 Sports Windows 10, USB-C
8in business tablet also packs in eight-hour battery life to get you through the working day
HP has taken a huge step in the business market with the release of the company’s first Windows 10-powered tablet.
Alongside Microsoft’s new software, the all-metal HP Pro Tablet 608 measures in at just 0.32 inches (8.35 mm) and weighs at 360g, making it one of the lightest and thinnest tablets around, and the perfect device for workers on the go.

As it will run Windows 10, the Pro Tablet 608 includes support for Cortana, Microsoft’s voice-enabled personal assistant, as well as featuring all the other new services packed into the software.
But as well as the new software, the HP Pro Tablet 608 also offers eight hour battery life, a quad-core Intel Atom Z8500 processor, 4GB of RAM and 128 GB storage, along with 8MP and 2MP cameras at the rear and front respectively.
The 7.9in diagonal FHD 2048 x 1536 display is made from Corning Gorilla Glass 4 that automatically adjusts to lighting conditions. It’s also been specially designed to offer increased business productivity, with the 4:3 aspect ratio providing 35 percent more viewing area than 16:9 displays for more natural readability of full-page content.
The Pro Tablet 608 is also the first HP tablet to feature a USB-C connectivity port, meaning fast charging and data transfer thanks to this new generation of USB cabling, which was first launched last year and recently showed up in Apple’s latest Macbooks,

“We are continuing to expand on our purpose-built mobility solutions to help our customers change how business is done.”
Available with a range of optional accessories, including a pen, rugged case, travel keyboards and a portable dock, the Windows 10 Pro Tablet 608 will go on sale in Europe from July 10, for £389 (excluding VAT), although a version powered by Windows 8.1 Pro will also be available from next month.
HP is also looking to target the tablet at SMBs who don’t yet accept mobile payments, announcing alongside the launch of the HP Pro Tablet Mobile Retail Solution, a new, durable case that combines with the new tablet to accommodate a range of third-party mobile payment terminals, including EMV, NFC, MSR and most digital wallets.
