Google Launches Its Tablet PC – The Pixel C

Google has announced its aim to topple Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3 and the iPad Pro with the launch of a new business tablet device – the Pixel C.

The 10.2in device can be twinned with a magnetic full-size keyboard for maximum portability, and will run the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, instead of Chrome OS.

Featuring a lightweight aluminium design it’ll cost $499 (£329) on release, which Google says will be “in time for the holidays”, with the keyboard costing $149 (£99) extra.

Flexible

Under the hood, there’s a quad-core Nvidia Tegra X1 processor, Intel Maxwell GPU and 3GB of RAM, and the Pixel C will also feature USB-C connectivity, meaning you can use reversible chargers and even share the same cables as the new Nexus smartphones.

Google was keen to emphasise the media capabilities of the device, which doesn’t need a kickstand and can be adjusted from 100 to 135 degrees, and features a super-bright screen with 308ppi, which adds up to a total of more than four million pixels.

There’s also stereo speakers, and four integrated microphones so that you can use all the voice control and action features found in Android Marshmallow.
