The smartphone market could about to get another big-name contender following the leak of several images purporting to show off LG’s next flagship device, the G4.
The pictures (see main image and below) emerged on the XDA Developer forum overnight, and appear to show a boosted-up build and design from the company’s last device, the popular LG G3.
Forum user s3rv1cet3ch posted a folder of images on the forum, explicitly calling it the G4, and noting that the device apparently features a built-in stylus.
The device also sports a square camera sensor and a rectangular power button, and photos claiming to show its interface show that it will run Android Lollipop 5.0.2 out of the box.
LG is set to reveal the G4 sometime next month, having opted to delay the launch so as not to compete with the big-name announcements from HTC and Samsung at Mobile World Congress last month.
The device is set to be the company’s most powerful yet, with information obtained by Greek website Techmaniacs back in January claiming that the LG G4 will feature top of the line hardware, being powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chipset, and 3GB of RAM.
The device’s camera will also receive a significant upgrade, with a system dump display (pictured below) appearing to show a 16MP rear camera in the LG G4, a major improvement from its predecessor, which featured a 13MP lens.
