Asus Announces The World’s Most Powerful Selfie Phone
ZenFone Selfie features two 13MP cameras to capture the perfect shot
The quest for the perfect smartphone selfie may soon by coming to an end with the release of the industry’s most advanced camera-focused device to date.
Asus has announced the ZenFone Selfie, a powerful new device in its ZenFone range, which features a 13MP front camera aimed at helping users take the perfect shot.
The Taiwanese manufacturer has also added in a similar lens on the rear of the device, with the images then able to view on a 5.5in high-resolution 1920 x 1080 Full HD IPS display.
Say Cheese
Away from the powerful cameras, the ZenFone Selfie also packs in some decent hardware, with Qualcomm’s octa-core, 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor providing the power as well as support for Category 4 LTE networks.
Software-wise, the device will run Android Lollipop 5.0 out of the box, backed up with Asus’ own Zen UI software.
But it’s the camera capabilities which Asus is the most happy to talk about, thanks to the ZenFone Selfie’s dual-colour, dual LED Real Tone flash PixelMaster lenses.
Selfie fans will be able to play with a newly-designed Selfie Panorama mode, which uses the ZenFone Selfie’s f/2.2-aperture front lens and 88-degree field of view to capture panoramic selfies of up to 140 degrees.
And if you aren’t too happy with how your photos turn out, then you can use the device’s ‘beautification mode’ to sharpen them up with what Asus calls ‘live digital cosmetics’, which can soften facial features, slim cheeks, and enhance skin tone to add vibrancy – all in real time.
The rear camera features a large f/2.0 aperture lens and laser auto-focus technology to ensure near-instant focusing for clear, sharp pictures — even in low-light conditions where traditional cameras struggle.
There’s no news on release dates or pricing just yet, so stay tuned for more details as we hear them.
