O2 Offers Public Sector And Charities £100 For Tablet Purchase

O2 will give a £100 connection credit to be used against the purchase of a new tablet to public and ‘third’ sector organisations, such as charities, which sign up for its ‘No.10’ data-only tariff.

The operator launched the original ‘No.10’ plan in August, offering a choice of either 5GB of 4G data or unlimited calls, texts and 1GB of data, along with the choice of two smartphones.

It says demand for the tariff has influenced its decision to expand the data-only offer, which costs £10 per month per connection and is available under Lot 6 of the PSN Services Framework.

Government tablets

An additional £2 bolt-on for Mobile Device Management (MDM) features is also available, giving organisations more control over the management and data use of devices.

O2 claims the deal demonstrates its commitment to the government’s digital ambitions and says it boasts the most secure commercial mobile network in the UK as it is the only one to receive CAS(T) certification for voice and data. Both Barnardo’s and Cambridge Constabulary are using the tariff to rollout tablets to staff.

“That’s why we’re supporting the government’s ambition to become digital by default with services like our No. 10 tariff that make it easy for public sector organisations to connect their employees to the information, tools and people they need when working on the move. This new tariff provides organisations with the flexibility to run a pilot with 50 tablets or roll out 5,000+ to all of their frontline employees.”
