MWC Video: Acer Debuts Android Smartphones

Acer has launched several new handsets at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, including three running the increasingly popular Android operating system from Google.

The beTouch E110 is a consumer-oriented phone running Android 1.5, which Acer is touting as both inexpensive and compact. Featuring a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, an FM radio, microSD and microUSB slots and a 3.2-megapixel camera, the beTouch E110 is due to arrive in March.

Acer’s Liquid is a high-end multimedia and entertainment device featuring Android 1.6, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor and a so-called “ultrafluid interface”. The interface is designed to provide a top-of-the-range entertainment experience with impressive battery life.

In this video Adrian Storp, director of product marketing for the Asian company, exhibits Acer’s Android handsets and outlines their features.
