Twitter Strikes Deal For Tweets To Appear In Google Search Results

Twitter and Google have reportedly struck a deal that means your tweets will now be searchable on Google,

Bloomberg claims the deal will see tweets become visible in search results instantaneously and mimics a similar arrangement between the two companies active between 2009 and 2011. The new program will start in the first half of 2015.

Automatic tweets

Twitter currently has 284 million users, all posting content which Google previously had to manually search for. However, Twitter will now pass on all tweets to Google automatically.

The deal will result in a higher number of non-Twitter users seeing tweets, therefore generating more ad revenue.

However, one of the sources claimed that there’s no advertising revenue agreement directly involved with the deal. Instead, Twitter will receive data-licensing revenue.

This week also saw Twitter announce deals with Flipboard, the social news app, and with Yahoo Japan.

If you’re having search engine problems I feel bad for you, son. I’ve got 99 problems but this quiz ain’t one.
