Amazon Prime Now Arrives In Berkshire, Hampshire And Surrey
Locations in the Home Countries will be able to enjoy one or two-hour delivery with Amazon Prime Now
Amazon Prime Now has been extended to parts of the Home Counties, offering one hour delivery on more than 15,000 items, in a bid to stay on top in the competitive ecommerce market and appeal to shoppers wanting the immediacy of the high street.
Existing Amazon Prime customers in selected Surrey postcodes including Camberley, Lightwater and Aldershot, will now be able to choose delivery within one hour of ordering for £6.99, or free delivery within a choice of two-hour, same-day delivery slots between 8am and midnight, seven days a week.
Shoppers across the rest of Surrey, as well as Hampshire and Berkshire, will also now be able to select a free drop-off in two-hour delivery windows, and customers will also get £10 off their first order of £30 or more with a special code, or £20 off Kindle devices.
Speedy
First launched in London in June 2015 and costing £30, Amazon Prime Now is also available to customers in Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester and Liverpool.
Among the products available to users are frozen pizzas, computer games and health supplements – also Amazon recently revealed that the most popular Prime Now purchase of 2015 was the company’s own Fire TV Stick – closely followed by bottled water, Pepsi Max and Terry’s Chocolate Orange.
“Prime Now is our fastest delivery option ever and from today Prime customers in Surrey can get the items they need quickly delivered right to the door in under an hour,” said Jason Weston, director of Amazon’s Prime Now service in the UK. “Whether it’s essentials like fresh milk or nappies, or even a last minute gift, customers love the convenience of delivery straight to their door in less than sixty minutes.”
The launch is Amazon’s latest expansion into the ecommerce market as it looks to stay top of the pile in what is becoming an increasingly crowded space.
Earlier this year, it revealed a partnership with Morrisons to offer home delivery of food products, giving Amazon Prime Now and Amazon Pantry customers access to ‘hundreds’ of Morrisons products in the company’s fresh, frozen and ‘ambient’ ranges.
Amazon Pantry, which offers more than 4,000 everyday essential items from beer to pet food, delivered directly to the customer’s door, launched in the UK back in November following a successful launch in the US 18 months ago.
