Management consulting and outsourcing company Accenture will hire 1,600 UK staff to join the ranks by August 2015.
The new roles will span a range of skills from apprentice to executive level.
Accenture said that the positions will be based throughout its UK locations including London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Newcastle.
British Prime Minister David Cameron commented on the hiring news, calling it part of a long-term plan to secure Britain’s economic future.
Accenture is scouting to fill 450 of the 1,600 positions with employees with skill sets that include analytics, e-commerce, architecture and analytics. A further 350 slots go to potential workers with financial, retail, comms, and media skills.
Just 100 positions are left open for employee with operational and IT strategy expertise.
Earlier this month Accenture, which employs over 300,000 people globally, teamed up with Microsoft to release a package designed to help companies integrate their IT operations with Microsoft Azure.
Avanade, the Microsoft-Accenture joint venture, will be offering the package which is called the Accenture Hybrid Cloud Solution for Microsoft Azure.
