Significant Number Of Brits Believe Life Will Be Better When The Robots Take Over
Almost half of the British public believe there is a real possibility robots could take over – but would it make the world a better place?
British grown ups are becoming increasingly open the idea of robots replacing humans in certain sectors, according to new research by travel search engine KAYAK.co.uk.
One in five British adults (20 percent) say they would actually prefer to stay at a hotel run by robots compared to a traditional hotel, rising to over a quarter for men (26 percent).
Trustworthy robots
Although the novelty factor undoubtedly plays a part in Brits’ desire to stay in a robot-run hotel, a fifth of British adults (19 percent) think robots are more trustworthy than humans, saying they would prefer to leave their luggage with them rather than a pesky human.
The research revealed that one in seven (14 percent) Brits think robots could put an end to poor customer service while 18 percent mentioned that the implementation of robot staff
would likely lead to reduced hotel rates.
While the majority of UK adults (75 percent) see the benefits of robotics in general, just 16 percent would like robots to look like humans. This is perhaps due to 42 percent believing that there is a real possibility robots could take over the world in the future.

“While the majority of British adults prefer the human touch when it comes to travel, there is clearly a significant proportion who are open-minded to the benefits robotics could offer.”
