JiveWorld 2017: Jive unveils its strategy to help enterprises break through the technology haze

These concepts consist of a smorgasbord of technologies and services, which will be made available in stages from this summer through to 2018.

Jive Identity, for example, digitally connects everyone in an organisation to form one unified list of users from which sub-communities can be created and Universal Search provides cross-application search functionality so employees can find and access content no matter where it is located.

The hub will also make use of big data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) through Jive WorkGraph to provide intelligence – or “work signals” – around the way people connect and the content they access.

“We believe collaboration should revolve around the person and around networks of people”, said Nick Hill, vice president of products.

“Jive’s collaboration hub is going to give people a common way to work together across teams, across applications and across organisations and give them the ability to discuss anything with anyone in the community.”

Jive kicked off its annual partner and customer conference with the surprise announcement that it has been acquired by Aurea Software in a £357 million cash deal.

Aurea CEO Scott Brighton joined Steele on stage on Tuesday to present a united front and shed more light on the reasons behind the deal, citing the “drive to create something profound” and Jive’s focus on customer success as contributing factors.

Steele also sought to assure customers that everything was progressing as planned, saying: “We have accomplished a lot in this past year. We’ve sharpened our business and we’ve made Jive stronger.

“We’ve strengthened our position in the market and we’ve made some tough decisions to strengthen our business, as we wanted to get to the next level strategically and financially.”

Finally, the company announced Jive Labs, a partnership with academia and research institutions with the aim of solving complex organisational business problems to aid collaboration within the enterprise.
