Dell Dishes Out Reduced-Cost Flash Storage

Dell has released an updated line of enterprise class all-flash array configurations, which it claims offers the lowest entry price for an all flash mid-range solution by any major vendor.

With configurations starting at £18,000, Dell said it has “knocked down walls” in the enterprise flash world.

‘Lowest cost entry point’

Robin Kuepers, head of storage marketing for Dell EMEA, said: “As Dell continues to bring down the cost of enterprise class storage, we now offer customers the industry’s easiest to use and lowest cost entry point into mid-range, all-flash enterprise arrays.”

The two new starting configurations expand into larger all-flash or hybrid storage arrays with combined flash and spinning disks.

“Dell’s ability to disrupt the storage industry with its extremely attractive and low entry price for its all-flash storage offerings is made all the more impressive by its inclusion of enterprise-class features and functionality,” said Mark Peters, senior analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group.

“Given the overall value proposition—which is bolstered by Dell’s renowned Copilot support—IT users around the globe should certainly give consideration to Dell when looking for AFA solutions.”
