R&D centre

The paper also claimed that the buyup would include an agreement which would see Amazon open an R&D centre in the country.

Annapurna Labs is a startup which has so far raised millions of dollars in private funding. According the the firm’s website, “teamwork, efficiency, hard work, and ethics” are top priority.

The company does also have an office in San Jose, California. Its investors include British-based ARM and venture capitalists Walden International.

This week, US storage firm Dropbox acquired Israeli company CloudOn. The firm is a mobile document editing tool developer.

CloudOn made apps that let users create and edit Microsoft Office files on mobile devices. The firm will now shut down its services following the acquisition with Dropbox gaining an Israel office of operations.
