Customers of British data centre provider VIRTUS will now get a helping hand from Nordic carrier TeliaSonera, as the firm expands its backbone into VIRTUS’ LONDON2 data centre and hooks up 200 points of presence across North America and EMEA.
TeliaSonera (TSIC), one of the largest telco service providers in Sweden and Finland, already shifts a third of the Internet across its backbone, providing a global routing table with minimal path changes fo the data to travel between.
The firm, founded in 2003, also offers Ethernet, international voice and IPX-based services.
In a statement, TeliaSonera’s Euro sales director highlighted London’s strategic importance in providing Internet routability.

VIRTUS said that customers of its Hayes-based LONDON2 will benefit from the strengthened global reach that TeliaSonera will provide.
