HSBC Customers Angry At Ongoing Online Banking Problems

HSBC customers suffer from further online problems, with services running at a “reduced capacity”

HSBC bank has said that its online and mobile banking services are still suffering from problems as hundreds of thousands of customers are unable to access their accounts.

Problems started yesterday morning at around 8am, with customers taking to social media to vent their frustration and not being able to access their online bank accounts.

Reduced capacity

But today, more than 24 hours after problems started, HSBC business banking services are still running at a “significantly reduced capacity”, the bank has said.

“Online and Mobile Banking are currently running at a significantly reduced capacity and running slower than normal,” a spokesperson for the bank said.

“Customers who need to make urgent payments up to a daily limit of £100,000 can still call Business Telephone Banking between 8am and 10pm on 03457 60 60 60.”

For personal banking customers, the situation is even worse.

“Online services are not currently working but customers can access the Personal Banking Mobile app. Due to high demand the service may be slow. We continue to work on a fix for online services,” said a spokesperson.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and our teams continue to work non-stop to restore all services. Regular updates will be provided.

“We will ensure customers do not lose out as a result of this issue.”
