IBM’s InfoSphere DataStage has reached ‘Huawei Ready’ status after successful tests found that there is minimal risk involved for customers to deploy big data solutions by integrating Huawei FusionInsight with the platform.
IBM InfoSphere DataStage is a core product module of the InfoSphere Information Server information integration platform, which offers data access to on-premise, cloud, mobile, and structured and unstructured data.
Ren Zhipeng, president of cloud computing at Huawei, said: “We are pleased that IBM InfoSphere DataStage has qualified for, and will receive the Huawei Ready logo, and that it works effectively with Huawei’s big data products.
“This will help enterprises acquire real valuable information from the torrents of data and gain insights on potential opportunities and risks. Huawei is committed to investing in the development of big data in the long term and dedicated to building the most extensive ecosystem with global partners.”
Last week at the China Development Forum, IBM CEO Gini Rometty made her clearest statement yet about working with Chinese technology partners. By working more closely with Chinese firms, IBM is likely to boost its sales in the region that is currently out of bounds for many Western suppliers due to spying allegations.
Reuters news agency reported that IBM CEO Virginia Rometty told an audience at the Forum: “If you’re a country, as China is, of 1.3 billion people you would want an IT industry as well.
“I think some firms find that perhaps frightening. We, though, at IBM…find that to be a great opportunity.”
