Dell Rolls Out Flex Pay Hybrid Cloud Options In Europe

Dell has made its cloud Flex Pay service available in Europe, meaning customers can ‘try before they buy’ with the company’s hybrid cloud platform.

The financing service should let potential customers trial a hybrid cloud infrastructure before making any hasty long-term commitments.

Customers can evaluate the Dell hybrid cloud system for Microsoft over six months, and afterwards decide on going in with Dell or returning the hardware.

“It’s important that customers have the option to test which cloud solution is right for their needs, without worrying about the cost,” said Dell Financial Services manager Cormac Costelloe. “With Cloud Flex Pay, we’re able to remove financial barriers and help customers to realise the benefits of hybrid cloud first-hand.”

Dell argues that while it’s easy to take advantage of public cloud services from vendors such as Amazon and Microsoft, not many organisations are ready to go ‘all in’ on public.

While public cloud is seeing the highest growth, IDC predicts external cloud adoption will increase of 22 percent to 32.1 percent over the next two years, hitting 45.8 percent growth. On top of this, the research house found that more than 70 percent of ‘heavy’ cloud users are thinking about going hybrid.

“Our goal is to provide customers with a choice by offering an open, flexible, end-to-end and modular approach – no matter where they are in their cloud journey,” said Costelloe.

Dell Cloud Flex Pay is available now in 19 countries across the EMEA region.

Hybrid

Dell made a raft of hybrid cloud-orientated announcement at last year’s VMworld, claiming that it can help customers bring workloads back from public clouds and house them in private and hybrid clouds.

Key to this is the company’s partnership with VMware, and Jim Ganthier, vice president and general manager of engineered solutions and cloud at Dell, said in a statement: “Several studies have shown the clear customer value and accelerating rate of repatriating previously public cloud only deployments to hybrid cloud environments.

“Dell’s innovations coupled with our ongoing and extensive VMware partnership enable our joint customers to not only achieve the above but also deliver both business results and outcomes.”

One of the joint products for hybrid cloud is Active System Manager, which now integrates with VMware’s vRealize Suite cloud management platform. Active System Manager customers are now able to integrate physical and virtual cloud environments, along with enabling dynamic cloud provisioning with vRealize Suite.
