Lanware And Trend Micro Deliver ‘Deep Security’ Cloud Tech

Lanware, providers of outsourced cloud-based technology, has teamed up with security software provider Trend Micro to deliver enterprise level secure technology to British SMBs.

Increasing numbers of threats around data and cyber security have made anti-malware and other security software a fundamental element of any outsourced technology solution, according to the firms.

Virtual patching

Deep Security is described as advanced anti-malware software that delivers “fast, effective protection” against threats and operates on a concept of ‘day zero’ protection – using virtual patching to block attacks, ahead of fixing the breach which can take longer.

The product is specifically developed for multiple machines that sit on a single server. This could be particularly beneficial where outsourced IT services are provided to multiple firms, as with 30 percent of Lanware’s current clients who are using Deep Security as part of a total IT package. It is expected that Lanware’s growing partnership with Trend Micro will ensure that Deep Security is included as a core component of the Lanware outsourced offering.

Henry Duncombe, MD of Lanware, said: “We’ve chosen to partner with Trend Micro not just for their products, but because our companies have a strong cultural alignment and we can work together to further our reputation for secure and compliant IT services to the Financial Services sector.

Ross Baker, sales director UK & Ireland, Trend Micro, said: “Lanware has already demonstrated the ability to take our technology into financial services and this further helps this push and focus in a sector where data security and privacy are particularly sensitive and prominent issues. Being recognised as gold partners reflects the level of commitment Lanware has shown to strengthening our partnership, which has included, for example, additional training for their engineers to be able to support the security offering in hybrid cloud.”
